Default HID's and check engine light!?!? HELP PLEASE!

i jus got a gs300 and put HID's on it..they are not factory HID's..they are aftermarket 9006 HID's..i jus want to know because i got a check engine light and want to make sure if its because the HID's or because of something else..the car was fine before the HID's but i jus want to see if anyone else experienced this problem..

the car was running fine and no lights..but when i took it home and swapped my HIDs onto the GS300..i noticed that the check engine light is on..is this common? or is there a way to bypass this?

Uh, it's probably not from the HID's. Pull the code or have it pulled.

yeah, but that doesn't get rid of the problem now does it? Get the code pulled and see what it is before you go about resetting the ecu.

Are your hids plug and play or did you wire them to the fuse box? I just installed my hids and I dont have any problems. BTW mine are plug and play. dont know if it makes a difference.

i just unplugged the battery and everything is fine and dandy now..so before u jump in my thread tryin to be a jackkass and not help..take into consideration saving the trip or pay someone to pull the code..i know pulling the code would get right to the problem..but why not save the trip and just do this little thing for 5 mins? no biggie..everything works fine STILL and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT..so im happy..

and yea i got a plug and play kit..i just noticed that the CEL came on after i put the kit on..or at least i noticed it after i drove it a few miles that it was on..but everythings fine for now..if it comes up again..then ill get the code checked

All he did was tell you to try and pull the codes, and you dont pay for that. And i highly doubt its the HID's, ive been messing around with the lights on the car since i bought it and i never had one CEL come up. So go check it at AutoZone for free. It will prolly come up again.

you dont need to unplug the bat. to reset, just pull the EFI fuse for about a minute or 2. the EFI fuse is located in the engine bay fuse box. im pretty sure your check engine light will come on again, you should really check it out. your ecu should have it stored.

I'm sorry, you're on your own if you personally attack other members like that. Before you start a new post in the future, please take that into consideration.
