Spark Plug Boot Repair---Help!!
Can anyone share spark plug boot repair techniques? I tore one of mine during a plug change job over the holidays. It is not a big tear, but it definitely went all the way through. While it is down now as I replace the starter, I figure I better fix it so I don't get the arcing/missing problem. I thought I read where someone said they used high-temp silicone. I know I can replace, but the part is pretty expensive. Any help is appreciated.
They said to try their Super Weather Strip Adhesive since it is made to bond rubber to rubber. Anyway, I'm going to give it a try and I'll let everyone know how it works. Any suggestions still appreciated.
OK, initial results look using the Super Weather Strip Adhesive to repair the torn boot. Just apply, hold it apart for a minute, then press together for a few minutes. It bonds quickly. It fired right up after my start and plug replacement job and appears to be running smoothly.
