If it is accessible through the obd port, I will find out soon. We have been super busy at the shop and I havent even had a chance to put it on a lift yet. The new techstream laptop obd is pretty user friendly so when I get a chance to hook it up, Ill see if I can program that. If I can and your ever in South Carolina, swing it by......
Most dealers would charge for that, but im a CL member and if I can help out, its no problem.

Thanks and I am not worried about them charging me. Just want to know the exact term whatever if an email of the feature or program info can be sent that would make it easier. I am willing to pay for it. Of course free is good but I'll take paid for at this point.

I have a 01 GS430. When I'm at home and trying to reset the ECU what is the proper way w/o a scan tool?
Just disconnect the neg. battery terminal or do you pull a backup fuse too?

Oh yeah, where would I hook up the OBD2 scanner?

I'm new the the GS and still searching around.

Thanks

Brent, you can reset the ECU by pulling the ECU fuse under the hood. It's the fuse box next to the battery. No need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

To hook up the OBD scanner, look under your steering column cover. There should be a port to hook up the connector.

Can you tell me how to reset the GPS? I'm not exactly sure what happened but my navi was showing I was in Washington D.C. but I'm in San Diego. I reset the ECU and now it's back in San Diego but about 5 miles from where I'm at.

Thanks

Hey aasc

I just picked up alsilverbullet 98 gs 300, couple minor issues I could use some advice on.
1. when I step on the brakes the abs actuator cycles randomly (I'm pretty sure the actuator is on the fire wall, drivers side), I could be driving for a 10 minutes & coming up to a light, I just touch the brakes & let off & I can hear it cycling

2. there is also a random noise coming from behind the glove box, just to the left of the cd changer, kinda sound like the a/c selector (vent selection) is stuck, but it still makes the sound with the a/c button off. My wife says it sounds like a rat behind the dash

Thanks in advance if you can help

Pat

As a matter of fact, I tried that summer mode on the wipers where you push down on the blades and they stow under the hood. Looks great but when the wipers sweep the windshield it sounds loud when it gets to the bottom of the sweep, in other words its not a smooth back and forth motion. It seems to repark everytime it gets to the bottom of the sweep. If I leave the wipers in the winter mode everything is fine. Please help,04GS300.

Unfortunately, I am a service writer, not a tech. I am pretty knowledgeable but dont think I could help diagnose.... I do however have access to technical service bulletins and when I go back to work I will see if there are any that apply. If you need any info, let me know.......
