whats vtec......oh...nevermind..I remember it only turns on after 7000 rpm.

It doesn't have to. It is different depending on the car. The Civic VTEC engaugement is different from the NSX VTEC engaugement and different from the ITR and such. It is tuned for the car.

VTEC and VVT-i are similar but are not the same.

VTEC varies cam lift, but not cam phase. VVT-i varies came phase, but not cam lift.

i-VTEC and VVTL-i are much more similar as the both control valve lift and cam phase/timing.

I use to have various vtec motors, and was just making a point.;)
