I had to get verification on this matter from tech's at the shop. I appears that they all do, but I stick to my previous post that my 02 does not dim at night. I wonder if the level of window tint has something to do with this.

i have an 04 and mine has auto dim aswell on side mirrors

 

I have them as well, it's a huge diffrence when you don't have them. For some of you that thing you don't have them, maybe the previous owner got one broken or both and cheaped out and replced with the non dim kind. Trust me, it happens. My girls IS, one side had it the other did not.

I wonder if it's an option or included in some kind of package. A few of my friend's GS does not have side dimming feature. Time to check out the owner's manual..

 

My 04 GS300 has auto-dimming side mirrors. The passenger side went out 1 week after purchasing it and took the dealership 5 days to get and install the part.

It seems like many of the 04 guys have them. But some of the other members have them too.

 

my 98 had it. it's not very "obvious" but after much testing, i believe it does

 

mine does not have it for sure. I have a 2000 GS4. So I just went with 5% on the windows.LOL.

 

I'd like to say my Platinum Edition does it, but it might just be the tint.

 

my 03 has it. the way i checked was by parking it in the garage the night i bought it and when i opened the garage door the next morning and got in they looked as if they had 40% tint on them once the outside light came in the car. later that night when i got home, to see it transition, i put a flash light in front of the rear view mirror and when the green light came on, the side mirrors dimmed.

 

I guess it's my tint that's blocking the dimming effect

 

This matter is getting more confussing as I look into it. Nowhere in the Lexus or Toyota data base does it say that there are external dimming mirrors, but only makes referance to the interior mirror. You got me on this one.

 

my 2003 gs430 has dimming on both sides, and my previous 2002 gs300 had dimming on the driver side only.
