Default Help, curious about gas tank location

Hello,

Im going to be mounting my subwoofer box down to that small ledge/shelf in the trunk of my 01 GS300. Im going to be using small L brackets from the box to the floor board portion so the sub fires upwards through the factory sub location. My question is, Im pretty sure the gas tank is underneath of that ledge, but how far under, and can I safely drill my box into that surface without causing problems.

Thanks in advance

What kind of box are you using? Ported, seal, ect... If you biult your box the correct size, you will not need any brakets to hold it in place. My box fits snug and I don't have any problems with it moving. Stay away from drilling close to the tank.

The gas tank isn't there. It's under the passenger seat. The big hump in the rear deck of the trunk is for the subframe and stuff to fit.

Be very careful! I bought my GS a month ago and the douchebag I bought it from cleared out the check engine light, reset the clock and gave it back to me and in the end I had to replace the charcoal canister located right below that shelf since someone ran a screw straight thru it. That's a $500+ part alone not to mention monkeying that thing in since it's ablve the axle. So use short screws or some other way if possible. Maybe the back metal under the trunk carpet.
