Anybody have "TIMKEN" wheel bearings?
I need new wheel bearings and I've been calling around shop and they're around 300-400 for labor since I need them pressed in (no, I can't just goto autozone and borrow a press since I need at least a 12ton hydraulic press).
Then I thought about just buying a hub assembly since I could just swap that myself and I found a company called "Timken" that makes hub assemblies for 40bucks.
Does anyone have any experience with them? I searched and it seems like it's good enough for a twin turbo GS400 owner according to his post.

timken makes pretty good bearings. I've seen timkin bearings on used on small personal jets and stuff, but as to whether or not it'll hold up as long as oem, that beats me.
But at that price, i'd be willing to change it more often if needed.

i asked around a few local domestic guys and some of them swear by their products. I also talked to someone who used to work for them they said they make really high quality stuff.
I'll prolly pull the trigger on this since it looks like I don't need a press and makes it a DIY project.

It does look like it's bolts in. You'll definitely need the press for the wheel bearings into the hub though. But since this is the whole hub assembly, then you can just bolt it in. I did a brake install for my buddy that required taking out the hub and it's just held on by bolts.

Timken makes good parts. I would recommend them. You will need a press to install. YOu could possibly pull them using a puller and tap new ones on using a piece of correctly sized PVC, but I'd recommend the press.

Come to think of it, you probably do have to press it into the knuckle. I'm not sure though. I've only removed the hub from my friend's accord which were held on by bolts.
coco, if you need the manual for the wheel bearing, let me know. That way you can look over on how to install the hub. But I know for sure the wheel bearing itself needs to be pressed. Then again, Timken is offering the whole hub
