NEED HELP: replace 120 amp fuse
Just realized that after a number of unsuccessful attempts to jump start my car ('01 GS430), the ALT 120 amp fuse is blown. The problem is, however, that I cannot figure out how to take a part the fuse assembly to replace the blown fuse.
Does anybody have step by step instructions for the replacement?
Thanks!

The engine-bay fuse box needs some dismantling as all the high amp fuses (50Amp+) are bolted in, so the fuse needs to be accessed from underneath. to unbolt.
You need to seperate the white plastic base (that all the fuses mount on) from the black housing, I believe 2 x 10mm and there are 2 tab clips too.

1) unscrewed the 2 bolts and a nut that hold fuse box
2) unscrewed 1 nut inside the fuse box
3) slided out the black plastic piece on the right side of the fuse box
now I am stuck... cannot remove the white plastic base from the black housing

I just popped my bonnet, you need to :
1. disconnect battery!!!!!!
2. remove the 200A cable terminal held in with 1xM10 nut at the end of the white board
3. Seperate the white base from the housing, there are 4 tiny clips that need to be opened (similar to how a cable-tie operates).
4. Pull out the white base from the housing. It is fiddly, but its the only way!
5. Unscrew the 2 nuts/bolts from each spade of the fuse
Hope this helps!

Well, I had a guy to come out and replace the 120amp fuse because I could not take a part the fuse box. As it turns out, it was not too hard to open it, however, with his tools, the job became a lot easier.
Two more fuses in the engine fuse box and one in the passenger: the car started just fine. I still have Check Engine,VSC and VSC off lights on... he will clear it later.
Yes, the car did start with the blown 120 fuse. It was running a bit rough, though, so I turned it off right away. By just looking at the fuse box, I could see that it is blown, the others he used a tester tool to check.
