Angry replaced brake light still not working!

I have a '99 gs 300. The little light came on on the dash indicating my brake light was out, which it was. I replaced the bulb and it still does not work and the light is still on on the dash. What is my next step?
Many thanks.

Could be a fuse or problem with the wiring. Check to see if you have power at the light socket. Also swap the bulb with the working one on the other side. I once bought a brand new pair of used wiper blades at an auto store. Some clown swapped out the new for his old. Store took them back though.

nope i think you have the bulb backward flip the bulb around i had this same problem the bulb that you replaced just flip it around or you can check which bulb doesnt light up with lights on or with brake lights on that would determine which bulb is bad or needs to be fliped arround

yah...just flip it around....polarity issue. Next time, check it before re-installing the bulb into the tail light housing.
