i'm not sure whether you can use the 6000k blubls on a stock hid setup. my reasoning behind this is that the 6000k kit comes with a separate charging unit for the ballast which allows for the jolt of the initial start up. not sure though. has anyone tried? ENGINYR~ let me know if your interested in the kit. email steven_k@pacbell.net

6000k HID's will fit with a slight mod. There is an alignment tab that needs to be cut off. www.suvlights.com $275

Maybe 6000k bulbs ONLY could be a group buy. What do you guy think about that?

Who would be interested?

I want to know if the bulbs will work on my IS. If so I'd be interested in getting in on a group buy. I like my lights, but it would be cool to have something even brighter. Another thing, what is the lifetime of the stock blubs?

won't there be a problem with the 6000k bulbs not having enough initial juice to start them with a 4200k kit? isn't that why the 6000k kits come with a charger for the ballast? dunno...if someone has tried it please post.

If your Lexus came with the factory HID, it is simple as replace the bulbs. Stage I and stage II has the same wattage for Phillips. Couple guys has done it on IS. If you get the right type of HID Bulb, which is D2R for GS, there won’t be any modification need to be done. I think enginyr got the D2S. Which is for Projection housing like the BMW or Audi.

As far as the group buy on Stage II? Its already been done about a 1.5 month ago. Here is the thread on the group buy with pictures.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27367

The result of the group buy was $275 for 2 Phillip Stage II bulbs. It is all you need to buy. You don’t need any kit if your car has factory HID.

Too bad I didn't own my car yet. But then again who knows I kinda like my lights, but a bit brighter and bluer would be nice for night drives on twisted roads. Anyone else interested in doing another group buy for just the stage II bulbs?

Shinchan, The link you attached does not seem to work...

Do you know how many people bought in to get that price?

Which shop provided the deal? Do you think I could call them directly and still maybe get this good deal?

Thanks,
