Hello all. I have an A/c problem. I was involved in a car accident about 2 years ago. After my car was repaired the a/c stopped workin. I recently got around to fix it. I bought a compressor and condensor. Now the a/c blows cool air for about 5 to 10 minutes, then it blows starts to blow warm air. This has been very frustrating after spending all this money on trying to correct the problem. So i would like to know if anyone can help me and let me know wat the problem is, since these mechanics always seem confused. There also is a funny smell coming from the vents when i turn the a/c on. THanks
P.S I have a 1998 Lexus GS 300

Reason: Forgot to mention something
ok first thing i need to know when u turn the a/c on and it starts to blow warm look at the a/c button and look at the light on the button and see if the green light on the button starts to blink...second thing is there are 2 reason y when u turn on the a/c it has a funny smeel ....first thing did u ever change ur a/c filter...there is a filter in the back of ur glove box that lexus recommends the is suppose to be changed every 15k but i recomment every 30k...now another reason y ur a/c is making that funny smell is that over time leafs and a lot of crap would get in to ur evaporater and start to rott in the evap and cause a funny smell. u will smell it most when ur a/c is first turned on after 2-3 minutes it might go away. to get rid of the smell u will have to get and get a a/c flush done and chnage the a/c filter..
Thanks for the info platinum. When the a/c starts to blow warm air the green light stays on. It doesnt blink. Thats one of the reason why im confused. ALso i changed my a/c cabin filter in the glove box. Its brand new. So yea it maybe that i need to get an a/c flush. Do you have any other suggestions to fix my a/c problem?
