OBDII test/ P0171
did an obd test, check engine light turned on, and i got Trouble shooting code P0171
Definition for it is "Fuel trim bank one condition"
Explanation:
The powertrain control module uses oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel
ratio of the engine. The computer has recognized a rich or lean on one engine bank only.
More info: the PCM has determined that during testing, the fuel system bank 1 was too lean. ( bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank)
so basicly i dont know what that means but i did some research and it could be my OS, missfire, fuel injector. Anyone deal with this before? Im taking the car in for a major tune up this week and was wondering would the tune up take care of this problem, or do I have a whole diffrent set of problems on my hands?
Thanx!

Oleg400,
Here's some information on air-fuel and what a p0171 code means for our cars...
Fuel trim refers to the feedback compensation value compared against the basic injection time. Fuel trim includes short-term fuel trim and long-term fuel trim.
Short-term fuel trim is the short-term fuel compensation used to maintain the air-fuel ratio at its ideal theoretical value. The signal from the heated oxygen sensor indicates whether the air-fuel ratio is RICH or LEAN compared to the ideal theoretical value, triggering a reduction in fuel volume if the air-fuel ratio is rich, and an increase in fuel volume if it is lean.
Long-term fuel trim is overall fuel compensation carried out long-term to compensate for continual deviation of the short-term fuel trim from the central value due to individual engine differences, wear over time and changes in the usage environment.
If both the short-term fuel trim and long-term fuel trim are LEAN or RICH beyond a certain value, it is detected as a malfunction and the MIL lights up.
Question, did it run out of gas?? That could cause this code to trip.
I hate to say it, but it could be a bunch of things, only one of which is an oxygen sensor. If it is an O2 it will most certainly be Sensor 1 on either bank 1 or 2 locations. (If you're wondering, Bank 1 is where cylinder 1 is located, Bank 2 is cylinder 2)
Could also be an injector problem (either failing, which is NOT common with the 1UZ, or clogged) perhaps a fuel system flush or running the tank close to empty and putting in some fuel cleaner (chevron techron is one of the best) will *help*
Could also be a mass air flow problem, or lack of spark. If it's time for a tune up like you said, change out the plugs!
Hope at least some of this info helps you out, good luck
