2GS skid plate?
2GS skid plate?
hi all. i was wondering if anyone has fabricated a skid plate that covers a good portion of the undercarriage of our cars. i know rmmgs4 custom made one here:

i know his are basically 2 wedges welded at the bottom. but what i was wondering if anyone has made a flat piece, maybe that covers the entire bottom of the front lip to maybe 12"-18" back. i think this would protect the bottom. but would it hinder any servicing of the car?

I am working on a full coverage skid plate as you have described, in fact there are 3 of us that will be coming up with varous designs of skid plates, and hopefully a universal design that will work with many aftermarket front ends.
Next time you come up to the Bay Area, shoot me a PM and we can chat and you can check out what I'm doing, probably have a mini-meet. : )
It will be probably be another month before I can finish it and post.
PS - I will be out of town starting tomorrow to attend an Exclusive Lexus event that several CL members are attending in a couple of days. You will surely hear about it once most of us return home and post about it around the beginning of next week.
I won't get in to details, but all I can say is that this event goes well beyond a typical "Taste of Lexus" type of activity.
