I am aware that the GS300 comes with 16" wheels standard and the GS430 has the 17", either standard or as option, I don't remember.

My question is... what size are the optional chrome wheels for the 2001 GS300 ??? Do they come in 17" or are they also 16"?

The GS has only 2 wheel types . The 16 " and 17 " . They either come in silver or chrome finish . You can get the 16 " in chrome if you desire .

So the answer to your question would be 16 " .

 

16 is the standard for all GS. 17 is the optional.
