Default quick question on starter

are all 2jz ge starters the same? Mine is on the kaputz and needs to be fixed or replaced and i don't feel like paying nearly 300 for a reman starter. I found a couple in the classifieds off of some SC300's will they fit?

It should be the same, but I'm not 100% sure. If you want to be 100% sure just hop on ebay and pick up a used starter off an IS300 or GS300 98+.

Also, why don't you buy a new/rebuilt starter. If you're buying a used one off of someone then it's likely to have a lot of hours on it. It's going to fail in half the time of a new unit or less if it's really old. Well unless you plan to sell the car soon then that might be a good cheap fix

EDIT: Looks like I was 1 min late on the reply and you beat me to the punch

I agree in this case. I'd go with a remanufactured started over just a "used" one since you'll never know how used it truly is.

Look at the labor cost or time if DIY. It is an undertaking for GS4. So go for the new or remanufactured(serviced).
