Default check engine light.steering whacked out

so lately i been noticing when i would turn my steering to the right it would like turn but i felt a feedback (kinda a notch by notch wavy feedback feeling) and it would only happen for the first 90 degrees... of the turn.

couple of days later it has just been degrating...
my wheels are all over the place.
i immediatly ordered the daizen bushings next day before even checking anything.
now my check engine light even came on.

i checked this morning and with engine off i have about 2-3 mm free play on the steering rack with OEM bushings.

so when i drive my steering is all out of whack my wheels feel slopppy.
i was wondering why my check engine light would come on...
it doesnt feel like the steering pump....
i dont see what sensor would get set off by bad bushings...
do you guys think my steering rack is gone? are there ne sensors that anyone knows about that relate to steering?

im going to replace thos bushings to night and see what happens...

thoughts: comments: appreciated.
