sorry to hear about your friend bro, these days it pretty sad that you get killed for anything people have no respect for life. i hope they catch these people before they kill someone else.

The thing is, it is not really a "bad" area, per se. Clarion corporation (stereo/electronics company) is literally right there, the Hustler Casino, which is considered a family entertainment venue, is at the intersection of Redondo Beach Blvd and Vermont, where I think this happened. It is a border between light industrial and residential zoning, and is dead at night, but to locals, it is a normal, common thoroughfare to get to the freeway. Apparently it attracts carjackers and thieves, too, for the quick access to the freeway.

Oh my man, I am sorry for you lose. My condolences to your friends family, girlfriend, to you and all of his close people. Thanks everyone. Just a brief overview of his life. He was a long time friend of mine since early junior high school. Gradudated from UCLA with BA economics, graduated MBA marshall school from USC last year. Landed a job as a regional manager for a well known Ink-drum manufacture company. Got engaged to his GF last year about the same time of year. LOVED cars. Especially his 2004 lexus gs430 with lowenhart lsr 20", air runner suspension, junction produce tail lights, rmm exhaust, full custom sound system and ect(I told him to go on CL, but he didn't have much spare time).

Thank you all for your kind words. May the lord be with him, and I'm hoping these foolz, be caught and put away for L. i personally wish i could do the punishing my self...haha but he wouldn't want that anyways.

I have friends that work at Clarion (though recently moved from Gardena), Hustler, and a number of Japanese businesses all along Redondo Beach Blvd. Although there are a large number of Japanese businesses in the area (it's one of the first places that Japanese Americans settled in Los Angeles), it's proximity to 3 freeways (and to Harbor Gateway, Compton, and Inglewood) makes it a target for lowlife scumbags. I have a friend who was robbed in a phone booth right there on Redondo Beach Blvd., and in broad daylight no less. Please be careful out there folks, wherever you are.

And hearing that your friend is a fellow UCLA grad and South Bay resident makes me sick. I hope these guys get the chair.

Well i've been thinking for the last couple hours on what to say to you about this. I am basically in shock right now. I pretty much only thought that that kind of stuff happened in movies and not in real life. O boy was I wrong. I'm pretty much speechless right now and this really makes me think about life. It can end so soon, but before it ends it's so great. My prayers go out to everyone involved even those who killed. They need serious help and only God can fix them. I sure hope they rot in jail for awhile though.

wow.. i'm so sorry to hear about this.. they will get what they deserve, i hope they're all brought in for justice... very unfortunate for the fiance as well.. i can't even imagine the kind of pain that she's going through. my prayers and thoughts are with you, your friend, her and their respective families.
