Nice. Love those headlights! What kind and where can I buy a set?

Will they bulbs HID bulbs and auto level from stock 1998 GS400 work with those? If not what's your set up?

Nice Ride!

And wow, an accord with no tailights whatsoever. That must be fun at night.

that is actually my stock non sport design halogen set up that we've modified. got with justin from advanced automotive concepts and baked them open. painted the housings flat black, installed the daytime demon eyes (halos), and cleared my sidemarkers and resealed it all back up. then i got with my boys at global premier and installed a 9000k hid kit and called it a day. so my car originally did not have HID's and i upgraded. the halos can be found at advanced automotive concepts www.advancedautomotiveconcepts.com and if you go to the gallery you will see my car with the installed headlights before i got my hood, and wheels. hope this helps

tell me about it. it was interesting seeing it go up on the trailer using its air bagged suspension. very neat and simple. raise it all the way, drive up, strap it up, and slam it! haha. i wish i could afford air runners. but the guys that don't drive their cars can get away with the no tail light issues. the bumper is very similar to mine except for the side vents and rear valence . anywho, thanks for the compliments.

Some nice cars being represented. Congrats on your win, well deserved. Alaska's first show of the season was this weekend, it's great to see all of the cars getting out from their winter hide aways.

Thanks LEXUS_KID it was a great time and it is always better when you have a crew to roll with. Nothin is worse than sitting out an entire show by yourself. You can't leave your car in fear of someone either messing with it or taking something, can leave it to get food or to use the facilities, etc...

Thanks GWELEX. Wow, I wonder how the show season is up there in Alaska. Do you guys have a big "lighting/LED/Neon" crowd up there since it is dark a lot? But you are right, it is great to finally see all the cars coming out of the shops and garages with all their new goodies!

Congrats on the win!!!!

I really like your CF hood. It looks very high quality from the pics. Did you do anything else to it after you bought it? Such as clear coating it or anything along those lines? Why is it open just a bit, in every single pic?

Is your grille also CF? What kind is it?

Thanks Hameed! The hood has not been tampered with except two drilled holes for the grille to fit perfectly. It was a minor adjustment. I have not yet done anything to the hood because I do plan on painting it next year, not all of it of course but some sort of way where i can showcase the carbon but have it subtle. It may be sooner depending on how things pan out. A good friend of mine won a raffle prize that entails a free stone-x application for the hood, front bumper, fenders, and side mirrors. He moved back up north and gave it to me. So I have plans of taking care of that too. But it probably won't be till next year. I can't wait! I want to run the car this year as is for this show season and will draw judgement thereafter as to what I should do to it.

The hood was cracked open for the majority of the show because it is still on the stock hood struts. That thing has a lot of power! So if i kept it open it would stay all the way open. I like my hood open with about a 2 foot gap between the hood and latch. i am putting together a chain and two snap clips running through a metal tube for the next show, you'll see when i post pics of what i mean. that will hold the hood in the place i want and i can put the chain through the tube to hide it. in other words, right now i only have the option of it being all the way open or latched the way it is before it is completely closed.

the grille is a custom fabricated one. one of our local shops wrapped an abs plastic one with a layer of dry carbon and did the resin treatment to it to make it shiney. turned out really nice. i like the fact that it is real carbon and not immitatioini carbon. it's funny how the trd grill is a sticker carbon and costs upwards to $300+.

Car looks great, good to see Brett car still gleaming. I couldn't make the show because I was selling my car.

Thanks for the clarifications! Yes, if I had a CF hood I would paint it to, but not the whole thing. I would paint the sides to match the car and leave the center bare CF or tinted very slightly in a shade to match the car such that the CF was very obvious up close.

Yes, I had forgotten about that important detail! The OEM struts will definitely ruin the CF hood.

Aha! Very cool. How much did it run you?

Yeah, I am not sticking with the color matched sides. I think that everyone has done that. I am going to go a different route to bring out the uniqueness of this hood, being that it is vented. you'll just have to wait and see. I am all about being unique. but the color matched sides is very clean and traditional to show cars with carbon hoods.

I am possibly going to go strutless becuase of how much power the struts have and just prop it up when i get to shows. however, it makes workin under the hood so much easier! hehe i suppose i could just take off the hood when i work on it! lol

yeah the initial grill was $40 shipped off of ebay and the shop had some material left over and just used that. They only charged me $50 to do it but said never again! lol. There are two particular grooves on the grille that do not do so well with the fabric. haha.

I can't wait to see what you have planned up your sleeve!

Any plan of installing hood pins? Everyone I have talked to about CF hoods recommends getting hood pins as the hood can fly open because the latch is not that great when travelling at highway speeds.
