You seem like a nice guy, and I believe you want an honest opinion about the rims. So...

Lexani's on a GS are ghetto. Back when I joined CL in 2001, they were more common on GS's. But even at that time, they were out of fashion. In fact, you'd likely be clowned on by a few outspoken CL members if you had those on your car. Lexani's heyday was probably 1998, right when the 2nd gen GS came out. The only time I see those rims in California nowadays are on the most ghetto of cars. And I do mean ghetto; even semi-ghetto folks will be pointing at them and calling them ghetto.

Beyond that, they are poor quality rims. I would never suspect that a CL member would purposely want those for their car. Lexani's are cast, extremely heavy, and they do not have the correct offsets and widths for a rear wheel drive car like the GS. Even knock off rims come staggered these days.

If possible, sell them immediately and make a profit on them. Don't even mount tires on them. I'm sure there are plenty of other rims that are within your budget that will match your style, look better, and fit better.

I think you'll spend more money down the road, while trying to save money now. You'll spend $1k now for the chrome, then a few $K more later to replace them. Why not save money by using the $1k on a better looking set of rims?

I'm sure you posted this thread, expecting respectable opinion. You received them; I hope you make the right choice.

I think you like them from your excitement. To me thats all that matters. Good luck man..I'm very proud of you guys. I thought this would turn into a flame thread but its has been very clean and supportive to an extent which is always nice to see. If the owner is happy than we all support..

That's why this Forum is #1 on my list, I am on a whole bunch of other forums and the stuff and immaturity that comes out of them makes me want to beat the ***** out of them fools...

I am very happy w/ the maturity in this thread. I thought a flame fest was for certain.

Bigbea, I am surprised you bought these wheels while expressing quite a bit of knowledge on what you want so in the end, if you are happy I say be good w/ it. I actually think you are just happy and excited about having new wheels. It doesn't sound as if you are too thrilled w/ the wheels design.

Alot of these dubbish styled wheels are all marketing. They push out a high retail price to give the appearance of quality and 'ballerism' when in all actuality they are very poorly made. Even Asanti's have very poor R&D into their wheels. Thats just the nature of that market.

If I were you and I 100% loved the wheels then go for it. if not, sell the wheels for a small profit and get something you're going to feel proud of every single day.

PS. I never go cheap on tires.... its the only piece of equipment you have that actually touches the pavement. Not something I would want to go cheap on. I'm amazed sometimes that people put all this high priced products on their car but go cheap w/ the tires.... might as well run your car into the wall.

In my opinion never go cheap on 5 things.

1. Tires
2. Brakes
3. Seats
4. Cognacs
5. Tennis shoes

There's nothing like driving around w/ a never ending hangover only to lose your concentration for a split second, slam your brakes that pressurize unevenly causing you to get sideways. The little braking that is functioning isn't doing any good because the cheap tires don't grip. you hit a wall and your seat brackets snap under impact
sending you through the windshield. Now you're lying on the hood of your car with cheap shoes.

Not the way I like to go.

Don't do it bro save your money and get something you actually want instead of just settling because your boy wants to get rid of them.. God forbid one of them bends or cracks within a few months thats it your gonna have to take em off anyways and be rimless again .. As long as your feeling em theres nothing wrong with that

I pretty much knew that people would be hatin and it's all good. I don't take it to heart. All of the rims that I like for the GS, most of you didn't anyway. My first post was about the TIS and Giovanna's tha tI wanted and I got burned. I don't want a staggered setup. I like to rotate my tires. Looks nice but not for me.

I'm gunna rock them for a summer and maybe swap them next your but I do like them. I've have many sets of rims in my day and I'm not just excited to get new wheels. Got some vault devilles for my CL and everyone on that forum hated them but not me. I guess I like the flashy hood rims. I got bit of ghetto in me and there is in most people I know. At least they ain't spinners.

Make sure you post a pic or two when you put them on. All this talk about this rim makes me want to see it on the car. I personally wouldn't do it and I don't think people are hating on you. Your sense of style is just different from most of the other people on the board. Like someone else said, do what makes you happy... most people/consumers are like sheep anyway. For instance, I personally am not a big fan of the whole VIP thing. I like nice simple wheels on clean cars, a clean body kit is nice as well... but the whole chrome fender trim, chrome door handles, curtains, hello kitty... is not me... but some people will do it simply because it's VIP and not because they personally like it...

I'm not saying it's on this board, but if you brand anything VIP, there are people who will buy it because somehow they think it makes their car cooler??? Who cares if they really like it or not... I think I am going to start mixing green cool-aid in with some premium gasonline and call it VIP gas. 8.00 per gallon...

My point is, throw the rims on if YOU are feeling them...

I was wondering if the opinions posted in this thread made u look the other way from those rims. Remember I told u to mount them regardless if it snows, well it was warm day 2day and heard there was a chance of wet snow I think Friday or Saturday in the area. Sorry! Not too much of a big deal though. Post the pix man when their mounted. Later
