1998 gs400
my ashtray unit refuses to stay closed. when it was working it 'clicked' into place. now, no click. believe it or not the unit is $200 to replace! i thought i'd ask if anyone else had found a fix for this issue....

I'm sure you can find one on Ebay for a lot less. Just keep an eye out if you can't get it fixed. I had mine taken out and modified to fit my Sirius radio and it still works perfectly.

 

I had the same problem I took mine apart and cleaned the track and the retainer lock and it worked great. the clip gets "gunk" built up on it. When you disassemble it you will see what i mean. very easy to remove and fix, maybe 15 min. tops, good luck
