Default No throttle pedal and P1121 error code.

Hey Guys I have a question about this error code P1121 - Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Range/Performance Problem. I have done a search for this problem in the forums, but it seem like most people get P1121 and P1120. I went to AutoZone and I just have error code P1121.

In my case I have a 99 GS400 and every couple of days I start the car up and back out of the garage and put it in drive and I have no throttle response and I get the check engine and VSC lights and all. Then I just turn the car of and usually I will have the throttle response back and the car will drive fine. It’s happening more and more now and I don’t want to get stuck. Should I just replace the Pedal Position Sensor (the sensor which has the throttle cable connected to it)? Since the problem is intermitted when I test the sensor with an Ohm meter everything is ok, I have the factory workshop manuals that show you how to test them. The closest Lexus dealer is 100 miles from me or I would just bring it in.

Thanks,

Matt

So was that the piece on the throttle body that the cable connects to?

Common area of concern with that motor is the Throttle Position Sensor and Throttle Pedal Position Sensor. My bet would be the later. $260 bucks from the dealer. Went through two in my GS4.
