Default shift **** install

When your screwing in a new shift **** (still OEM kind) how far are you supposed to keep twisting? I got mine in but I feel like I can keep twisting it more, but I don't want to twist too much and break something. The bottom metal part of the shift **** is almost touching the plastic of the gear indicator area.

In Park it will come down really close to the shift plate but in drive it pulls away.

About twisting toofar, I thought the same thing too wheni first got the car, i took off the shift **** "just for Kicks" and got freaked out when it felt like it can keep going. i just stopped when the tension was pretty tight without going too far. you can kinda feel it out.
