My moonroof has had an issue for the past several months. It would automatically shut when i hit the lever but not all the way and then goes back to the middle. I took it to the dealership and they said it would probably cost around $400. Well I may have waited too long and now it doesn not even move back and forth unless I hold the lever, let alone shut.

I've read the fix for the ES300 to shut it manually. Will this work for a 2000 GS300? There is so much wind noise and leaks into the top area but does not drip. I think I ruined it more by going to the carwash...it's a scary thing when I'm going through the blow dry area...it's so loud and seems like it's going to break / shatter the moon roof completely.

I just want to shut it completely. No need to get it fixed right now. I would like to do this myself and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
