Thumbs up

Just finished doing the tanabes... Man they sound amazing. Not loud at all, but defitnitely not stock. Very deep tone. Hopefully I'll get the "real" tone in the next couple of days after everything settles in. Was defitnitely an easy install, recommend it to anybody. I almost paid a pretty penny for someone else to install it, but am defitnitely glad I tried it. I am in the military and we have a hobby shop on base with any n every tool. Only problem I ran into was a couple of the bolts were welded or rusted together on the stock exhaust assembly. I just cut them off n voila!!! Out it came. Anyway, I'll get some pics up or maybe even a video sometime this week after I throw in the headers and coils. Soooo...cost of mod:
Time in the stall @ hobbyshop(2 hours) - $6
Time n labor for my boy(gas money, he lives a bit away) - $20
Look on the faces of all the mustang and camaro owners when i lowered the car off the lift and started it...P-R-I-C-E-L-E-S-S

didn't they change the name from auto hobby shop to something else? MCAS did. that's where i did most of my easy mods. my id is now expired and the only way to get a new one is by getting another job on base again. i miss my id, all the benefits that military id gets. i told you $100 for exhaust sound a little high.

exhaust:100
coils:140
EDFC:60/h at most 5 hours, estimating more in the range of 3
Headers: no quote until he can actually get a chance to look at the car.
Anyway I was just wondering how much was the average price of these installs on the forums. If the clublexus average is considerably lower I might just try to do them myself. I appreciate all the help in advance and hope ya'll can help me.
$100 for exhaust seems a lil too much to me .. i always put on my own exhaust the only time i paid.. i paid $20.... coilovers $140 is good.... the usual its 200-300... edfc if someone hasnt done it b4 it can be pretty confusing for them.. but i'd say i'd do it for someone for about $100 flat i never got to install mine i had to sell it for money..

not true, headers will go on with out lifting motor. it's a pain to do, but can be done fairly easy. the cover are hard to remove, i cut them off. the hardest thing i found was removing the driverside stock manifold. we had to modify a wrench to remove one of the nuts because of the position and little space in engine bay.
steering link and dipstick have to come off too.

As far as the headers, it helps to undo the engine mounting bolts and 'just' jack the engine up about two inches - this will make getting the heat shields out much easier. I did not not need to modify any wrenches to get either stock manifold out. The drivers side is the tougher side though. You need to take the front plastic underneath engine cover off to allow several angles of attack for removing the stock manifold nuts and installing the header nuts. I would also highly recommend using PB Blaster to make removing the manifold nuts easier. I had a 15 inch swivel head 1/2 inch drive socket with 6 point sockets ( both deep and normal ) and this made the job much easier. Good luck with the header install.

Coilovers are definitely easier to do than the header install, but $140 is a good price for the labor.

I appreciate all the input fellas. I think we're gonna do the headers n coils sometime in the next two days. As far as the name dont know. Everyone calls it "the Hobby Shop"! My boy is pretty good with a wrench and he doesnt charge me cuz according to him, "I love this stuff"! haha... Anyway I appreciate all the informative DIY threads and defitnitely couldnt of done it without the help of CL and all its memebers. THANX...ILL KEEP YA POSTED!

Just got back from the "Hobby Shop", and got the coilovers and edfc thrown on! Dropped about 1-1 1/2 all around. just waiting for them to "set". Got the edfc on a temporary setup until me and my guys can put it in the permanent place, where the mirror control is presently located and move the mirror control next to the steering column. Saw it on another thread and i really like how clean it looks there so thats the next DIY. Anyway only problem we ran into is the VSC, ABS, and VSC off light are going off. My guy who helped me with the install has a code reader and will see if he can swing through later today to see if he can clear them. Hopefully it isnt, that i have to replace the sensors. Well the wiring set up for now is the accesory and constant are both spliced onto a 12v, i think its for the door lights. like i said its temporary until we place the edfc in its permanent spot. If anyone has any ideas why these warnings are gettin thrown off i would highly appreciate to hear them, but as i said i did the search and im praying its not that i need to replace some sensors. Ill defitnitely get some pics up but just a heads up. Car is filthy. I hope nobody calls child services on me cuz my "baby" is so dirty. Lol. Anyway as far as my opinion on the handling... WOW... big difference.

This didn't happen right after the coilover install did it? I hope your buddy didnt break any sensors or anything while doing the install. They aren't cheap to replace.
