Trade 98LS or 98-00GS?????
Hey,
I have a 98LS, pic attached at the bottom( Yes it needs to be LOWERED). Im really happy with it but im not satisfied if u know what i mean. I dont want to dump money into it bc when i look at it i think of how good a GS4 or 430 wuld look instead! My carr is literally a 9/10 overall considering that it was owned by an old guy and the interior and exterior look amazing. I mean 2 door dings that are tiny. My question is, would you go through the hassle of finding a used car all over again when you've already foudn a near perfect one. I'm really confused but i see so many sick GS's and i could sell or trade mine in for one. I really like the look of tmf2004's GS and it's probably what i'd go for but probably mrr hr2 wheels instead.
Thanks

Since I've had both, (a 98LS, and now a '02 GS430) I will mention that to an LS400 owner, Especially if it was your first Lexus, you would have this idea that ALL Lexus' are this nice, and that the a GS is a similar car to the LS, just a bit sportier, but it in fact is very different.
Its a compromise in most cases... quality is a world of difference on the inside. The LS has top-notch leather, plastics, and refinement. Strong points the GS lacks to the untrained eye.
Example, motors are much more noisier in the GS... every motor, from the sound of the windows closing, to the power door locks (sounds like a shotgun comparing to my '98 LS.)Not to mention rattles. The LS is more quiet, and of course bigger, and roomier (could be a good, or a bad thing.) The LS spares no cost in luxury, even though my LS was 4 years older, the difference in quality is obvious. Think about it, the LS sells for about $57K, when a GS400 sold for $42K the same year (gs300 was in the upper $30's). There is a reason for this price difference.
At the same time, the GS does have its advantages, like its size, and its steering feel, and handling. It also has more of a sporty appeal to it.
What I meant is, the difference between the GS and the LS isn’t like the difference between a 750i, and a 545i. More like a the S-class, and a CLK.

Hey,
I noticed that when i took a test drve in a GS430, but it was at a used car dealership so it was in pretty bad shape. Overall i love my carr but im not in love with the looks comparing to the GS4. We'll see how it works out, i guess ill just go to JMLexus when i get a day off of workk. My freinds dad workks for them and says he can get me a good deal on a certified preowned one.
Thanks,
Aaron
