Do you have any experience with composites? You ought to look into bagging. It'll save money and labor in the long run. Then you can start getting into more structurally sound parts. Depends on how crazy you plan on getting I guess. Hows the sanding? I always had to do a ****load to get it to look good when I did layup. All those damn pits and uneven areas.

i will be gettin some sandpaper later today and a orbital sander... i have worked with similar applications before without any problems... as you can see in the pics.. the raw finish is not all that bad.... i have looked into bagging ... but ima try layup first to see my results... i shoudl finish this piece of wood soon see how it comes out.. of course i can imagine parts that are just not flat are more complex to do then a piece of wood where bagging would work lik a charm... li guess well see what happens

pictures sanded down and clear coated.. obviously these can still be polished to bring out more shine... but clear is not cured yet

as u can see i didnt really take my time with these... just trying to get the mix ratios down and just the overall feel for the resin

wow.. nice work!
i bought some CF sheets about 2-3 years ago an never got around to doing any work with it.. so if you wanna do a small write up, that would be alwsome!

and what is the mix ratios your using now? and what happens if you dont mix it right.. just dry faster? or does it look different?

stuff im using is made by uscomposites.. its a clear surfboard resin...
dries clear.. i mix mine with MEKP for methy ethyl keton peroxide..
radios are pretty slim with this stuff like 1oz per quart of resin.
i take it the difference is how much pot time u have till it hardens to a non working state. im not sure if it looks different.. but its writtent aht i can mix up as much as 50% difference ... more or less.. depending on desired thickness or weather conditions.

once i start working on the parts themselves.. i will doa ocmplete write up on it. with pics!
