Tip:

If you run two sets of aftermarket HID kits, you can swap the turn on plugs to your kits so your low beam plug turns on the fogs and your fog light plug turns on your headlights.

I did this because I didn't want to mess with the wiring board under the dash and it was a lot faster/quicker. 2 minute mod.

everything has it's pros/cons...
so according to you, 3000K is the way to go?

well, i don't think the turn on plug to your factory HID low beams is the same as your fogs but for me - i have HID kits for both lows and fogs. thus- it's a lot easier for me to just swap the plugs.

why do you think they call me the "idea guy"?

Cliffud, the problem I see with your setup is when you hit the high beams. Won't your low beams shut off and the fogs and high stay on. I think it would look a bit strange

The way I have my car setup is a bit more complicated. I did the foglight switch mod, and also the foglight is tied in with the low beams thru a relay harness and a few diodes. Basically I can turn on the fogs with no other lights on, and when I have the high beam on the fogs will stay on as well

Oh yeah, and with 3 sets of HID's I think everyone on the road hates me
Good thing they are all aimed properly. It only gets intense/blinding when I hit the high beams. Imagine 4 HID bulbs at full power, and two of them are on boosted ballasts

No Lexus has HID fogs. All 01 430s have HIDs standard, thus they all have yellow fogs.

All GSs with HIDs from the factory have yellow fogs from the factory.

The 1992 ES 300-1994 model had yellow fogs.

The 2001-2005 IS 300 had yellow fogs.

I LOVE FOR A LEXUS TO HAVE YELLOW FOGS!

Jeff- you're certainly correct. If I ever use my high beams, my normal beams won't show.

I didn't really think about it though since the HID fogs and low beams are so bright anyway. I haven't thrown on my brights just yet but yeah- I guess it would look odd but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

If you think about total illumination on a dark road, you may want to keep your fogs on to throw some light on the sides even with your brights on.

I can't imagine being in front of your car with 6 HID bulbs firing... that would be cool!

except my high beams are not HIDs.. i need to use the high beam to flash some people

now if i can only find HIDs for my back up lights.. that would be awesome

jeff.. I have a solution.. get a remote control kits for your foglights..
that way you can use each one of them independently.. no need to mess around with wires.. installation in less than 10 mins.. ok maybe 15 mins if you have big hands..
you can have the foglights ON without turning the headlights
some people think it's cooler to run yellow foglights in the day time..( like cadillac)
