Possible to do donuts on a 2GS without LSD?
been watching Tiff's stunt driving instructional video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7JQvCEOHXo
just wondering if it is possible or has anyone done donuts on a 2GS with the stock diff?
also how likely is 2GS's stock suspension going to make the car roll over on high speed corners before tires giving out?

You can, you just can't do them that tight and hold them for that long.

No burn out??
What's your method of doing burnouts? Most cars are able to do burnouts.

My GS leaves great patches of rubber on the ground. Surprising it leaves better thread marks than the Supra (non LSD).

The tires will give out long before the chance of a roll over.

I beg to differ. Just about everything from 1975 to 1985 couldn't even turn its tires much less do a real burnout.
A counterclockwise donut would be easier than a clockwise.

Huh? What's the logic in that?

From a stop sign turn left at full throttle. The from a stop sign right left at full throttle. You will get much more tire spin turning right. It's how a open differential works.

Just not sure why you would want to do this, I have put my mustangs, vettes and my trucks sideways daily but never thought of doing it in the lexus. In straight line in the rain I can burn the **** out of the tires, but I don't see the need for added stress on the drivetrain on dry pavement.

LSD's not necessary, but it's quite an experience.

If you really want the definitive answer to this, call Team Lexus in Maryland. We watched their guy Chuck Goldsborough drift in a small parking lot at Lexfest '05. I'm sure they'd be glad to tell you about what a stock GS can do, and what mods would need to be made that are essential to optimize.
