its a bare LCD no touch screen its a 8" im a keyboard mouse kinda guy.. ot me a logitech nuvo or whatever its called i will be making minor adjustments tonight and should be somewhat in car soon.. using a inverter with a 400W pws i dont rem rightnow manufacturer... but im going to get rid of the stock ampand radio and power my system with a X-fi soundblaster.... 107db snr :-) dont get cleaner then that. hehe .. power supply is going im pllace of stock amp.

Not to be a punk... but you should throw in another 512 mb of ram. The system is quick, but 512 is a bare minimum for XP and XP MCE. 1 GB+ will keep you out of virtual memory, particularly if you're into gaming and not restarting often.

Looks like a nice project. I love the idea of carputers... maybe one day for me.

Are you considering a USB GPS with Streets and Trips? That would be neat.

Eh, will the glovebox still close? lol
Or do you plan to remove the glovebox and just put the front cover on.

Anyways, great job on the project. For my carputer project, I'm going to use a laptop as the computer. Much much easier to tuck away and it has plenty of power for what I'm going to need it for.

um... well theres gna be a plexiglass window there instead.. no glovebox.. i was actually aiming towards looks... and as far as the 512 - 1gb ram thing... its a dualchannel board, and i was having issues with compatibility on the dual channel so i jus used it somewhere else. :--p

im having alot of fiberglass work done. kick panes so forth, so im gna have a custom glass center console... pretty much the stock sound system is gone... no radio.. bye bye.. screen will take its place. and i got a really slim keyboard and mouse setup from logitec.
