Default bad purchase

well I purchased a 99 GS300 with 84k miles from Park Place Lexus in Plano, Texas over a month ago and it turns out someone skipped the 60k service. It did, however, get it's oil changed. The car seems to drive fine but sometimes I feel some of what could be tranny lag, this could be because i'm not used to a 5 speed automatic though? are there any things I urgently need to do or check? i'm planning to make the service up the beginning of next month.

check the tranny fluid. remember, lexus tranny are meant for comfort so they aren't going to have shift points like say a mercedes E55. Even my GS400's tranny "lags". Its slow at downshifting unless i give it quite a bit of throttle. It's just the nature of the GS.

Congrats on the purchase of your GS . What did you end up paying for it? Also, since you are in the DFW area check out the Southwest forum for a meet we are having next weekend in Addison. You need to come out and see what other folks have done to their cars. Hope to see you there.

too bad, you should've gotton yourself a GS400.
then you would have had options to shift up/down as u wish.
although it's pretty 'late' to say this....nowadays, 1999 GS400 only cost you about 15000~18000.
anyhow, the bottom line is...if u r driving a GS3, just enjoy the comfort.

Try resetting the ECU. Easiest way is to disconnect the battery for a little while. It is not a miracle cure but it might give you back a little bit.
