How does 18" wheels affect gas mileage?
The bigger the circumference you go up from stock makes you go further than your odometer reads. If the circumference is not much bigger, it won't make much of a difference. Keep in mind that it's harder for the motor to turn a wheel with a bigger circumference, so you might actually lose city mileage. I'm guessing an 18" wheel with a smaller sidewall will be similar to the stocks with a big sidewall. Look around on google for a calculator/converter. I know I've seen them.
I don't see a change in mileage after putting on 18's. The change came when I began to slow down on the highways and not blow the AC as often. Next spring I'm upgrading to 20's; let's see if there is a change then.
18's won't affect your mileage other than u driving a bit faster (harder) because u look better.....it's all about how u drive, not the size of the wheels (i know it sounds funny, but tis true)
