Default Drop in the bucket

Theoratical 10hp more to theoratical 300 hp => 0.03 (3%) while a realistic .01 (1%) is more likely.

Leaving the trifold manual at home may get you the same improvement

This mod is more for asethetics [visual and audio] than anything else.

Apart from the twisted humor above, do sit and ride in a GS which has the mod as a driver/passenger you get to hear it from inside.

Do you have the Hameed/Dx3 style mid-pipe mod? If not, you might be pleasantly surprised. I do have a custom 2.25" mid-pipe to X-pipe mod and you can feel the difference, unlike the more accepted muffler or cat-back exhaust mod. In my case I did not remove the resonators of my Carson Tuned cat-back exhaust and there is very little difference in noise. Not sure what the OP car is - GS300 or GS4XX. Certainly on the GS430 the custom mid-pipe did make a noticeable difference, especially in combination with the S&S Headers.

TeeLex:

U are right. I just have the Ltuned resonators.

My mod sounds superb from outside.

Inside, I can kill the drone by driving with "e-shift".

Any estimate of %hp increase by the setup you mention?

The S&S Headers were dynoed ( SC430 - Pearlpower ) and gave a 17-18 hp increase with 28 lb-ft of torque on the 430 engine. Based on my seat of the pants experience with the headers first, then my custom mid-pipe/X-pipe, I would say the combination is worth about 25-28 hp. More importantly, the power is there in the mid-range, so it's really usable, and the car is just much more fun to drive. A great combo-mod IMO.

You might not get quite as much increase with the GS400 because it has a somewhat better exhaust manifold design than the 430.
