what I meant when I said that there the best as bang for the buck wise is, that WR right now will give you more power from there intake+ECU combo than any other manufacturer out there yes they are pricey, but thats the price you have to pay to be top dog. I personaly have the SRT HFI/ECU II and I love it and think even though its expense its money well spent, and Ive heard that SRT is working on a new chip for there intakes as well to rival weapons R's new intake

Retail on the chip is $299...I don't know what install is....Its pointless to put on a 99 up BMW anyways, they produce 0 HP....atleast in the 3 series.....

I might get one when I get there intake, but I got suspenion coming next week for my 325i and a m3 front end soon after that. So not much performance stuff out for those cars....they really dont produce any HP, or engine noise (exhaust)

There is one combo that guarantees performance gain, RMM or WR intake with APEXi S-AFC.

RA,

You can't really say that intake+S-AFC is a guaranteed performance gain for the GS400 either. So far, we know of no one that has posted results of this combo either in story or dyno form.

In reality, the only two combos that have shown any performance results are SRT and WR because they have published dyno graphs. I know that dyno graphs are not the end-all be-all of authenticizing performance as some SRT owners can attest to, but at least they are results.

I know some people will disagree with me, but if you want to go ahead and buy a S-AFC and then spend hours tuning the damn thing on a dyno to get it right be my guest. Oh yeah, don't get itchy fingers either cause if you lean out your motor by mistake by adding a wrong A/F mixture at the push of a button, then say good-bye to that EXPENSIVE GS motor.

The WR is more than just adjusting A/F mixtures. It also, modifies the characteristics of the transmission shifts making the shifting crisper and more sporty. It also, changes the throttle characteristics versus the gas pedal so that WOT occurs sooner. These are things you can't modify with the S-AFC unless you buy another unit. Just some more food for thought.

Hey CSHCLW,

I find it interesting that that you would be willing to spend big bucks on a bodykit, 20" Rims and all the exterior trimmings but when it comes down to shelling out bucks for performance mods, $1500 is too much. I wonder how much you paid for clear taillights because personally, anything over 300 bucks is too much for such a little exterior mod. My point is it's all about what you are willing and not willing to spend money on.

In my opinion, spending 2-3K on a body kit is not worth it. I would rather use that same money to make the GS4 faster. If you think about it. The WR combo is the only performance mod on the market TODAY that can give you substantial performance gains. 15 HP and 30 ft-lb of torque is substantial considering the next big performance gain mod would be a Supercharger and we all know how much that costs... In that light $1500 is expensive true BUT it will get you to the point where you have the best performance gains this side of a Supercharger kit at a quarter of the price. Just wanted to provide another angle.

Yes, I think the weapon R results are great.....

BUT...lets see what you get....

intake, ecu, and a cold air box....

This stuff is extremely over priced....

I like those Davin spinning 20's too, but 10K is over priced....

I think that they have a great product for $600, because the intake is really only worth about $150 and any ECU for any car is no more then $500.....at best.....Once again the Dinan chip for my BMW is only $299 RETAIL.....and DINAN is a major respectable tunner.....

I am not saying that the weapon R is useless, just EXTREMELY over priced, just like the tires I have! But for me the GS is all about Show anyways.....it's not a drivers car.....come on, it's an automatic!
