he has agreed on the price of $18,275 but he hasn't changed the water pump and he stated The only thing that's wrong with it is the right-side power
door locks don't work...they only work manually. It should be an easy fix.
Everything else is good?

So what do you guys think?
thanks,
Adam

well..if you want to change the water pump, you'll be looking at over $700 for parts and labor. People usually change the water pump with the timing belt since it's right there so the mechanic doesn't have to take out everything again.

If it's an easy fix, why didn't HE fix the door locks? I'd say make HIM to take it to the Lexus dealer and fix the door locks. Or at a minimum, you or he should get the problem diagnosed first (at the Lexus dealer!), and get an estimate. You need to make SURE it's an "easy, cheap" fix.

$18,300 with all locks working correctly, and the car in mint condition otherwise (interior and exterior), then it would be worth it, IMO...because black on black with Navi is a very difficult combo to find, especially pre-2001.

i'd say 17.8k if the locks aren't fixed... especially since you don't know what it could be...
if he's not interested, then tell him to fix it and you'll pay 18.3k

I definitely would if it was black interior, I am baised on it. I guess now it becomes a waiting game. And I still have to sell my Jeep, so I'm not in any hurry

I just got a blk on blk 2000 gs400 but no nav w/ 80k for 18,000. I know how you feel I was picky too. It took me about a month to find it. Look on ebay, autotrader and cars.com.

Good luck .
