Smile gs 400, need advice

Hey guys,
I am in the market in purchasing a Gs 400 or 430. I am looking at JD's car to buy, here is the info on it: 2000 LEXUS GS400, 112K mi, air bag, abs, ac, ps, cc, tilt, lthr, p/seats, p/windows, tint, pdl, p/mirrors, sunroof, blk/blk, NAVIGATION, HEATED SEATS, ALL OPTIONS!, 19" Mahdi Ceasar wheels, Tein HA suspension, cross drilled slotted rotors, jdm window visors, 01 rear lights, $16,900

Now since it has 112 K miles on it, I am wondering what questions and concerns should I have about a gs with that many miles; and how much does it roughly cost to fix them?
thanks

High mileage isnt really an issue with out cars, they will run strong forever provided the regular maintenance is done. That being said, you should check when the last servicing was done on the car? The 90k service is the big one where most major items like the water pump, timing belt and serpintine belts are changed (at least mine were at 90k).

If you do a search, you'll get some other results for stuff like ball joints, tie rods, and other suspension related issues that you can expect from normal wear on high mileage GS, especially if it has been lowered and has the 19' wheels. The only other thing too is minor that I can think of, is minor rattling in the sunroof and dash board, but there are ways to fix those (using the search feature will get DIY repairs for stuff like that). Hope that helps..

it sounds like a good buy to me, considering then that he did the full 90k service on the car. It always pays to have your own mechanic to look over the car before you buy, if you have that luxury. Even after you purchase it (or any other GS if not this one in particular), you'll be able to find a wealth of information regarding DIY repairs (if you are mechanically inclined), and in some case, once you get involved with your local Club Lexus regional chapter, some of the local members might even be willing to help you with your mods or repairs (or at least direct you to a place that might offer CL members a discount...as is the case for us members here in Northern Cali). Good luck, and let us know if you end up buying the car...

sounds great! Good luck, and let us see pics when you get around to it. Also check out your local CL chapter too, so you can get involved in local meets and stuff....great chance to meet members in person, and check out other nice GS's. Good luck again with the purchase
