How can one tell when their tie rod ends are bad?

i'm gonna go have the following done:

inspect:
injectors, tie rods, control arms, water pump, spark plugs, ball joints, bushings and just the overall suspension, brake lines/hoses, body/chassis nuts/bolts, exhaust pipes/mountings, heating/air-conditioning components, fuel system, valves/valve cover gaskets

then i'm gonna get the following fluids flushed and filled:
transmission
differential
brake
coolant

i plan on gettin' the daizen bushing upgrades for sways and control arms, new ball joints, and new tie rods

i think this will be sufficient in building up the front end, makin' my car that much grounded and the fluid changes should give it a bit more pep

any other suggestions?
