Default Both high beams burnt at the same time?

I was driving home last night and noticed that when I clicked the highs on, it wasn't getting any brighter out. I checked when I got home and it turns out BOTH high beams were not functioning. Has anyone seen this before? I've seen where one goes out, but not both... at the same time. I know they were working before I hit the dark spot because I flashed them at my friend on the way home. I am going to check the fuses in a bit, and see if that did it, but the indicator light for the High beam comes on. Usually if its a fuse, it doesn't recognize that they were even turned on. Strange things...

I noticed mine doing the same thing. I have some blue bulbs in there (I dont have HID's), and remember reading how some folks harness had their harnesses damaged by after market bulbs. Could this be the reason? I havent bothered to check mine, only because Ive never needed my high beams....

If the wattage is 80W+ is could burn your harnesses but I don't think it would happen with your high beams cuz they are only running at half power as day time running lights. I have experienced both of my high beam bulbs going out at the same time and it was also after flashing some people with the highs. I had those cheap blue xenon bulbs in the highbeams so i think thats the only reason they burned out together.....cheap bulbs that could not handle being flashed, its hit and miss with those bulbs. I don't think it would happen with OEM bulbs. Now, if you were using OEM bulbs, then i have never heard of both burning out at the same time, but possible.

Well after looking at the fuses and the bulbs, i found out that both bulbs were indeed burnt. I had some Phillips aftermarket bulbs in there and i guess they just gave out after two years. I checked both harnesses and they were ok, so it didnt get to the point were they got damaged. I put factory replacements and it worked fine including the DRL's. Strange that they were both burned out, but whatever. As long as they both work now... im ok!
