Question for you guys. I was wanting to light the tires up from a stop, and was wondering if any of you experienced any problems w/ power braking. Standing on the brakes...are they able to hold the car, or is there too much torque? Best to do it while the tires are still cold? Thanks for the help.

Default Hmm..

Doing that will apply brakes to the rear wheels as well. You should do a drop-shift from neurtal at like 6000 RPM!!! Better to fry just your tranny rather than the whole drive-train, wheels, brakes, engine, etc, etc.. Hehe.

I had a friend in HS who used to do neutral drops in his shitty 4-cyl Pontiac. Looked and sounded awesome for such a booty-*** car. His tranny held up pretty well actually.

I would not do a 6k drop from nuetral under any circumstances.....Just stick to option A-holding the brakes.....Tiny

Cool video Sasha!!

Looks like we are gonna keep the GS too.. Wife got her promotion today so she is gonna buy out my GS.. Know anyone who wants 17" chrome wheels to buy??

I think I will buy her a set of 18" for her b-day next year but have no need for these 17's since I have 16" BBS knock offs for winter for this car..

Send me a PM if you know of anyone who wants 'em..

Thanks!

Agree with tiny, DO NOT DUMP A GEAR AT 6000 RPM! You may blow your tranny or TC. Power braking is much easier on your drivetrain. The rear brake pads cannot hold back the motor; easier to replace pads then a tranny & drivetrain.

I suspect that Mr. Horse was being facetious.

you would be surprised at the strength of those rear brake pads in some cases they do hold out pretty well what you could do is let it roll a little just so you have some kind of momentum and then slam on the brakes and the gas at the same time youll break them loose then
or you can always throw it in reverse step on the gas and then just slam it into drive if you do this and you dont hear a big thud then your in for a smoke show

p.s. its called good burnout because its the better of two video qualities, but not because it looked better or was better forthe car, because in both cases it was bad... thank you snow...
