Need help.........my security system seems to be the problem.

I was trying to program my garage door opener to the homelink system and gave up. I also purchased another master key and was trying to program it but was not able to get the security system to acknowledge the step process.

Do I have a screwed up security system? Am I doomed to getting raped by a dealer to look at this? Could a good sound system/security shop help me out? Do I have any options?

Your garage door has a rolling security key, you have to set it to static. Your doing the programing right but the security key is changed everytime you open/close the door.
