What's the best + easiest way to chrome out your stock grill?...what's the best gel based paint stripper / remover to do the job?

just get the paint stripper and some cloth, gloves. and rub

yeah the DIY chrome grill looks real nice in my opinion i just dont wanna ruin the grill with harsh chemicals, just makin sure its fine to use any paint stripper / remover . =]

I also found that using some "meanie greenie's" helped. You know the green scrub pad that you use to clean really grimy pots and pans or to scrub the ceramic in your bathroom. That helped alot. It didn't scratch the chrome underneath the paint at all. Cut the time in half.

just did this mod this weekend...used goof off and a straight razor blade. applied goof off with qtip and let sit for a minute and scrapd right off with razor...took about 30 minutes and only took off the front of slates with a perfect line...good luck!

wow i just did this mod tonight....took 30 min with grade 1 steel wool and goo offf....it looks awesome!

what do u guys think is better?...to chrome out just the front or for the whole thing to be chrome?.......

Are those ebay chrome grill kits worth it or should I just spend the time with goof off?

im thinkin its better to spend 30 minutes to uncover the true chrome on the grill.......rather then sticking chrome stickers on each slate to create a chrome grill effect (which is what i think the kit is). It's chrome vs sticker. =D

can of graffitti remover from home depot and i was pretty much done within 30 mins.


oh and don't get tis stuff on your skin ..it will burn, so if you do just rinse with water right away.
