Well as for changing the battery yes its that easy. Once you take the screw out slide the cover downwards first then it should pop upwards. I was messing with it for 20 mins trying to pry it open before I realized that I had to slide it down first

I'm not sure if a new battery is going to fix my short range problem. I got my car new off the lot 3 months ago so the batteries in the keys should still be fresh. My maximum range is around 25ft.

You might of jacked up the antenna or something. The circuitry inside the casing is pretty delicate. Or did you use the correct size battery? If its too small it might just be bouncing around in there and gettin contact 50% of the time. If you are able to...take the whole thing apart down to the circuit board and make sure no foreign objects are stuck in there. Then reassemble and retry.

Good luck!

sucks for owners who bought the remote starter kit from luxury mods. what is the point of doing remote starter if the stock remote range is only about 100 feet....

sup henry, i just want to keep it real....

the purpose of the remote starter is to start the vehicle, cool or heat up the vehicle before we get in. very useful in extreme cold weather where you can start the car while you are at your office or home

tell me how cold/hot your interior is going to be when you can only started it from 5 cars away versus starting after getting in.....not much

the factory alarm's range is okay for keyless entry, not for remote starter....

haha i know man, i was just kidding

to be honest i got the autostart for my car mostly for the cool factor, i know what you mean about being hot though, but since my car usually cools down relatively fast (thank god i don't live in las vegas or hawaii, lol), so far it's been ok

and still, i think it's just somehow the gs remote sux for some yrs..... my sc430 i got auto top down and autostart, i can do that from way far away, easily 200 ft. i was inside the dealership and put down the top to scare the two people wondering around my car.

I have bad range on mine....heck, it's downright horrible when my Xbox is on (turns off 45 seconds after accessory is turned off). I have to be like 5 ft away to get a response...I guess the Xbox produces some strong EF interference.
