Unhappy

Hello gentlemen,
I came over from the E46 M3 board at bimmer.org. I am currently waiting for an M3, but the long wait has has rendered me without a daily driver. I am looking into purchasing a new GS 430 with nav, stereo upgrade, premium package, and performance tires. My dilemma however is, i can't seem to find one in the country at all, anywhere. Apparently no one cares for my options in a GS 430 . This is the first time that i have ever been very willing to purchase a car and actually can't find available. I would appreciate any input that you gentlemen can provide that would improve my luck in getting this vehicle. I really don't want to go buy a 540i, because BMW salesmen treat you like scum of the earth . Anyways, thanks for your time and i look forward to your advice.

I also frequent the bimmer.org boards, since we have a 2001 530i in the family and there is much useful info there as there is here too.

I just recently bought a 2001 GS430 here in NJ and the allocation is very slim, so it really depends on your Lexus Dealer and how willing they are to search out there for the vehicle you want. The Lexus sales was a great experience, from treating you very well to following up.

I have all the options you are looking at too and that is the way to go, fully loaded if you can.

You will have to tell us members, which area you are located in, so we can see if we can help.

I was thinking about the 540i also, but more expensive and even on the bimmer.org boards you here of all kinds of reliability problems. The Lexus is solid all around (KNOCK ON WOOD).

oh forgot to mention that. I am located in Dallas, Texas. I am looking for a Black car with grey interior. Apparently, this is also rare. Just bad time to look i guess. The other reason i don't want a 540i is, bmw is going to be coming ou with the 545i pretty soon. They have a 4.5litre V8 sitting on the shelves and as usual they milk the customers till the demand dies then plop the 4.5 v8 down to spur interest again.

CK,

welcome. your reasoning on the BMWs is on the same lines as mine. the e46 M3 is nice, but the wait, price, dealer attitude....i can go on...

the car you/we all like does exist. but the blk/grey is just sooooo difficult to find one. from my experience of helping out members, most who opt for blk exterior go for blk interior(this one is actually a bit easier). i have yet seen a blk/grey fully loaded gs430. do you have 2nd / 3rd choices in mind? you could always special order, but judging from your situation, this might not be a good idea as the wait is 4-6 weeks

i (my buddy sales mgr)can get you blk/blk, silver, white whenever you are ready(i know they are coming in this month-some are here already; because several members want them).
his dealership always ships cars across the country. to dallas, TX , the freight is only $700. plus, you get good discount here in LA(~$51900+freight). you just need to take care of DMV youself in dallas when the gs arrives at your door. i heard some people actually fly here to LA and drive one home. i would just wait at home for my new GS.

let me know what you think on my suggestion. you can reach me via PM box on the bottom, or
