Maxx, I am a bit confused. Your PDF says the model number should be above 74XX, as shown below:
However, when I search for these amplifiers on eBay, I don't see anything like that as the model number. For example, one guy on eBay says he is selling a 2004 GS430 ML amp. Here is what the tag shows and I don't see how that relates to the 74XX?
The tough part is that the actual part number never changed before the faulty amp and the revised amp. I don't want to buy another faulty amp.
Can anyone advise?

ok, so you are saying the bar code to the right of the part number pictured is not the model number?
I looked at half dozen of these amps on eBay and don't see any barcode sticker on the sides beyond the one just to the right of the part number.

The model number is covered by the side mounting brackets. See the below link for reference. Although, i am not sure the SC430 amp will work for the GS but you can see the placement of the model number.
