What's up with the 'Fresh Air', 'Recirculate', & 'Auto' settings? It seems to jump from/to 'Auto' on it's own. Does is matter?

It shouldn't go TO auto on it's own, but it will forget auto if you hit 'off'.

With the auto light on the car will select fresh or recirculate by itself (and the auto light will stay on as well).

The sensitivity of the auto feature can be adjusted on the LS, so you should be able to do so on the GS as well. If you hold down the recycled/auto/vented air button (while in park) the display will show the sensitivity number. I believe it is from -3 to 3. I have ours adjusted to the most sensitive.

Very nice feature. I notice every time I begin to smell exhaust fumes/diesel fumes in traffic and glance down at the recycle button it switches.

which is which? I want to make my very sensitive so if there's even ALITTLE dirty air it'll switch to recirculate. Is that LEFT or RIGHT?

I wish I had the car to tell you exactly, my parents have it now...traveling.

With the car running and in park you hold down the button for recycled air/vented air/auto feature. After a few seconds it should beep and the climate control screen will show a number on the very left side. You use the drivier side temp control to increase that number as high as it goes for increased sensitivity. After a few seconds idle, the HVAC system will automatically exit and return to regular display.

Let me say again that I am not 100% certain that this feature is on both the GS and the LS. It would stand to reason that it is on both vehicles because the LS has this feature and the HVAC system appears to be the same on both the GS and LS.

When I say screen I am referring to the display area, in this case, without nav. Sorry for the confusion. So the number will show up on the very left side where the driver side temp display is.

Works with mine (nav, 00), but I don't get it. The screen shows settings from lo to hi but I'm not sure what either end means. Maybe hi means hi sensitivity.

Glad to hear that is does work on the GS too, thanks for the confirmation. I don't have any experience with the nav setup, but I would think that the high would be more sensitive. On the non-nav there are numbers that represent sensitivity, so it would stand to reason that "hi" would represent more sensitivity, probably somewhere in the manual. You'll notice after some mixed driving situations with the recirculation in the auto position. I wish it could sense bad smells and not just pollutants

Default THANKS, GOT IT!!

Set the sensitifity to HIGH (right) and it works very well. You could see it jumping to recirculate when any problems outside are detected....

When you adjust the sensitivity, your adjusting the how sensitive the outside carbon dioxide sensor is. +3 = more sensitive, -3 = less sensitive. This adjustment can be done with nav or non-nav cars.
