Default Some Quick Q's

If anyone could answer these it would be much appreciated:

1) I have noticed that after 'racing' the engine the engine smells somwhat like grease, a weird odor I am thinking that is may be the stuff the dealer used to clean the engine, that was a year ago thought but since then I have only put on maybe 2,000 miles. The engine is still super clean, I have pics of it in my gallery. Anyone have a clue? I have checked everything, maybe time to change the oil? But I am pretty sure dealer did that

In addition I should note that after a few days of 'racing' the engine the ordor seems to be getting lighter.

2) Can anyone recommmed a wash cloth I should use, a brand? I have the Mr. Clean kit for the streak free clean

3) If you turn on ETC PWR when in motion does it work as well as if having it on when you turn on the engine?

4) When doing a straight line which is better to use, auto or manual?

5) I ordered 2 new Magnaflow exchauts, will the sound be louder because the GS uses dual? Compared to a single exchaust car?

6) With my L-Tuned setup I am still deciding if to get 18's or 19's in a few months. I like the idea of a clean, sturdy 18' rims which will offer a smoother ride.

Thanks

Do you like the Mr. Clean kit

I always drive with the ETC power on I can't seem to tell the difference

I would use the shift point in a straight line race that way you have better control

I ordered 2 new Magnaflow exchauts, will the sound be louder because the GS uses dual? Compared to a single exchaust car?
Yes it sure will be louder because you have duals

I have 19 and sitten on coilover the ride is just like stock with a mean look

1. If nothing's leaking, then you're right, it's probably the remains of the engine cleaner that the dealer used. It got into all the nooks and crannies, and it's still burning off whenever the engine gets hot. (OT, but... 2000 miles in one year???)

2. I use a sheepskin mitt to wash my car. Sorry.

3. No difference.

4. Don't know, too lazy to shift nowadays because of the ETC PWR switch.

5 & 6. Don't know.

1) maybe there are just some grease residue? that's weird. i race my gs400 and i dont' have any bad smell

2) i just get those 10 or 12 pack micro fiber cloths from costco. imho micro fiber is good

3) no problem, you can switch it on any time

4) just put it in D and gun it. as long as the PWR is on, manual shift probably wont' gain you much

5) loud or not i think it mostly depends on the muffler, having two doesn't really make it two times as loud

6) 18s have better ride, but imho that's too small. if you want the quality, how abut 19s with fat setup

Thanks everyone!

LEXUS_KID I love the Mr. Clean kit, its awesome. Just deciding which cloth to use was the problem. You should really try it!

JellyBean That is what I am thinking also since there are no leaks. And yes only 2,000 if that in a whole year I'll also look for that mitt.

rominl I also think 18's look small but I want to retain ride comfort. All this will be decided when the shocks/springs arrive and are installed. I'll be able to tell the difference they have on the 16's

like i said, how about the 19s with fat? that's the same amount of sidewall as 18s
