Which scantool (OBD II)?
I did search and...nada.
Many choices. Seems Autoenginuity offers the most, but is pricey - $229 plus maybe another 100 clams for the Toyota enhanced software (the latter should work with Lexus, right?)
The ElmScan hardware is 100 clams anc often comes bundled with software like Digimoto, PCMScan or ProScan. Obviously this is more attractive. Anyone have an opinion about these three software programs?
What I would like is datalogging, preferrably transferrable to a spreadsheet via a .csv file, the ability to monitor Ltrims and Strims, Knock retard, and timing. Icing on the cake would be individual cylinder misfires and the like, but I can do without these. The ability to read and turn off DTCs is, of course, a given.
Any opinions/info?

I had asked the same question, but got varying answers at another site.
From old posts:
I'm looking either at the SUPER AutoScanner CP9145 (MSRP $299.99 USD): http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16150
Or the OBD II AutoScanner CP9135 (MSRP $179.99 USD): http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16151

If depends on what you want to do. Only reading codes I would get that. I wanted to be able to test more items like O2 sensors, erase codes all codes (set mil), do complete car testing, chk coolant temp, timing etc. So I bought a Snapon Micro Scan. Retail was $799 but got it new on EBay for half!

Look at thehttp://www.autoenginuity.com.This one works with a Palm Pilot or a Laptop.
We use the Autoenginuity in a proffessional enviroment.I have used Snap On and Mac scanners, neither in my opinion are as good as this setup. The Vetronix Scan Tool for Toyota cost me around $3500.00 several years ago. ;and for everything except reprogramming ecu's the Autoenginuity can handle it at a huge savings over the cost of these other units.I prefer using it over the Ford WDS System when I can. Download the software from their website and have a look at it. The software is available to download free. You just have to purchase the connecter to be able to use it.You will be able to use it for most all cars on the road with the CAN adapter. Also check EBAY they list them on there also. Good Luck.
NOTE: I am in no way affiliated with this product.Since this looks like an ad for them.........

Also, look for a model/brand called Autotap. Used to be at www.autotap.com

Thank you. I own Autotap for my GM vehicle and like it, but for imports it only gives you generic dataset for 179 bucks so not competitive. I think Autoenginuity is what I was heading for and what you have helped me decide on.
