interesting spot to tap the power jon. just be careful. i wsa trying to tap the same power when doing my v1 hardwire and it was hard to figure out which one is power and which one is signal

anyway, on the gs4 i just tapped on the rearview mirror power wire, that's easy enough since it's powered (just 2 wires) as soon as the car is powered up. not sure if that's just as easy in this case but just an idea

Very nice!!

I am a little confused about exactly where you placed the LED's though. Are they "inside" the current dome light fixture? Or are the LED's themselves actually visible when you look up at the dome light? ( I am referring to the actual LED itself, not the light it emits).

Can't do that. My rearview mirror is a non-electrical unit that's just stuck to the glass....

they are actually inside the map light indentation (the switch that toggles left and right, not in and out). i drilled right at the crease between the horizontal and vertical part, so it angled it towards the dash. if you take the whole unit out, you'll understand what i'm taking about. you see about 1/4th of the top of the bulb sticking out, the rest is behind the plastic.

Hmm, maybe coz he only stuck the LEDs between the headliners and they are really red in color. The way Nicola and I did it are hidden inside the maplight switch, and mine's actually pure white in color. The color output of my LEDs do nothing but accentuate the already bright center console anyway. Too bad. He got a great idea going, though....
