Does anyone get a "motorized" noise when they start their car???

I always get a kind of noise when i cold start my car it sounds like something that is motorized moving...then it clunks into place...it used to happen when i drive too (but now my music it to loud to hear anything )...


Does anyone know what that is?!?!?!

I think it is the abs pump. I hear the same noise, it lasts for a few seconds, then stops.

ABS going through self-check...Not a problem, no worries.

It will do it at different times too not just during startup.

yeah its your abs. you will also hear it after every 4th or 5th brake. (just to be technical, hehe)

Ive always thought it was the a/c vent thingy swithching from close to open or vice versa :eek:

see my post should i worry? aside from worry, will it get worse or damage anything else if it continues to behave as it is now?

Default Motorized noise when starting your car?

When you start your car next time, tilt your head down, and look at the steering wheel. You should be able to see it moving. That would explaint he motorized noise.

I hate that damn noise. Mine does it all of the time, it can't be good for the car? I almost wen't to the dealer to see what the deal was but someone told me it was "normal." Very odd...

I'e noticed the same thing in my car. My 1st gen GS 300 will almost always switch from "recirculated" to "fresh" air mode when I start my car. It is then and olny then (also when I change it back to "recirculate") will I hear that mororized noise.
