I have a problem and need ya help, input, comments, what ever. I looking for 4 new tires ASAP because I both of my driver side got nails in it.

I have a '99 GS400 with 17" rims. Currently i have Bridgestone Potenza RE730 yet some of my friends and the dealer @ Costco recommended Michelin Pilot XGT Z4. What should i get for my baby GS400

I wanted 245/45/17 but the Michelin tires are big when they put it on my 17" stock rims. They're not thin and sporty looks like Bridgestone. Put ppl keep telling to go for Michelin. What do you think??? Thanks in advance for your input.

Pilots
I'm currently running Michelin Pilot 235/45/17 XGT Z4s. Love 'em. Great traction in wet and dry. Responsive. Long wearing. Great tire.

Next set will be 245s to get more tire on the road.

Beside the Bridgeston Potenza RE730, what about the Potenza Pole Position? Are they handling well on the GS400?

What are the differences between S-03 Pole Position and S-02 Pole Position? Heck I went to their site but the info doesn't help much. There isn't any comparation between the two.

pole position s02 is a best of breed but u pay in treadlife.
the s03 is yet untested but you'd think it would be on par with 02.
last time i peeked a few weeks ago tirerack was having clearance pricing on the s02. you might want to check.

Thanks,

Welp i have narrowed it down between Bridgestone RE730 and Michelin Pilot Sport. I just wanted a thin look on the tires. Any comments?

Man those tires will put a BIG hole in my wallet.

Thanx,

"thin look"
theoretically, all the 235/45/17 are the same in that respect. to truly get thinner sidewalls, u need to upsize your rims. i don't believe in that but many here do. bigger rims = bent rims IMO.

RE730
Fusion,

for performance, value, price, longevity, tread design, look you like, nothing beats the re730 in the 17" catagery, imho, and many users feedback on the rack.

S02s were very good, kind of expensive though...the s03s are even better, according to many reviews.

the pilot sports are good, but too much money.
