OK ... 18" x 9" all around
I know most of you prefer a staggered setup (8.5" f, 10" r, or something like that).
I'm thinking about 18"x9" on all four wheels.
What's the biggest tire you can put on a 9" wheel? (Rays Revolver).
What are the implications for having a fairly wide tire on the front in terms of (a) comfort, (b) handling, etc.
PLEASE ADVISE.

Bobcat,
18X9: For the front I would recommend 245/40 and 255/40 for the rear. Don't worry because 18X9 is not the widest tire you can put on a GS. I am currently running 19X9 (245/35ZR19) in the front and 19X10 (275/35ZR19) for the rear. IMHO, there are always trade-offs for comfort, handling, and "quiet." I do not know of a quiet high performance tire. Take the AVS dB for instance. It's quiet but I wouldn't recommend it for road courses. AVS Sport is excellent on the road courses, loud, gets sticky at times, therefore wears out quicker.
As for tires, I like Pirelli Rosso Assemetrico and the Toyo T1-S. I have gone through Yokohama AVS and Dunlop SP9000. Actually, I really like the T1-S (easier on the wallet too).

I think Bobcat was looking for 18x9's all around so that he can rotate the tires. Therfore, having staggered tire sizes would defeat the purpose. I guess 255 40's is the widest tire you can put on. I don't think you will rub especially in the front's. I have 255's in the front and they don't rub...Hope this helps.
